Chef Steve Evennett-Watts

About Steve

Steve Evennett-Watts is a friendly and down to earth chef who started out as a sous chef at the River Café in London, under the guidance of Rose Gray and Ruthie Rogers. He is even pictured making pasta in the original River Café Cookbook!

After stints at Chez Bruce and l’Odeon, adding French cuisine to his skill-set, Steve spent eight years as Executive Head Chef of Villandry in Great Portland Street, London. In this role, he occasionally cooked privately for Tony and Cherie Blair at Downing Street, and gave advice on cooking for their children.

He later went on to head up the kitchen at the iconic Chelsea Arts Club, before founding The Delicious Dining Company in 2010.

Steve holds a level 4 certificate in kitchen hygiene and a 5-star (‘excellent’) hygiene rating certificate from Elmbridge Borough Council.

My Dedication & Ethos

Working in some of London’s most prestigious kitchens has been a huge privilege and honour, and I have these establishments to thank for all I have learned about food – and the correct way to work with it.

Detail matters enormously to me and I am meticulous about making sure that everything I cook is the best possible version of itself. I want my clients to savour what I’ve cooked for them – and to come back for more!

I specialise in classic cookery – taking inspiration from British, European and pan-Asian cuisines – researching thoroughly (I have a library of cookery books) and adding my own twist when I think something can be improved.

Whether for an elegant canapé function, an easy-going buffet, or a five-course dining experience, my role is to bring your dream menu to life with finesse and flavours you will love.
